The rise of smartphones, the powerful functions of mobile phones and the increasing power consumption have made the battery capacity larger and larger, so fast charging technology has emerged. The development of fast charging technology is changing with each passing day. Qualcomm QC fast charging technology has developed from QC2.0 and the current most common QC3.0 fast charging charger to the latest QC4. Qualcomm’s fast charging technology has been constantly innovating and progressing at every stage of development. QC2.0 changed the charging voltage epoch-makingly, from the conventional 5V that has been maintained for many years to 9V/12V/20V, increasing the voltage to maintain a large power transmission of 18W under the same 2A current, and the wire does not need special treatment and old wires can be used universally.
QC3.0 is based on the two voltage levels of 9V/12V in QC2.0, further subdividing the voltage level, setting the voltage at 200mV per level, and continuously adjusting until the most suitable voltage is found to maintain the best charging efficiency. The voltage file of QC3.0 can be lowered to 3.6V and the highest voltage is 20V, and it is downward compatible with QC2.0.
2020, Qualcomm launched the QC3 fast charging standard, which not only achieved an increase in charging speed and a reduction in charging temperature, but also was compatible with the existing QC3.0 fast charging standard. QC3 can be regarded as an enhanced version of integrating QC3.0 specifications into QC4’s 20mV unit voltage micro-control. It can perform voltage fine-tuning in units of 20mV, so that chargers and batteries can be charged at the best conversion efficiency, and can also be applied to unlimited fast charging products, sharing USB-A charging interfaces and wires. There is no need for mobile phone manufacturers to change hardware to achieve an economical and affordable fast charging solution.
JADARD Technology is a professional mobile terminal key chip design company. In 2015, FP6600/FP6601 began to ship, and its compatibility was very high. In 2016, JADARD Technology further launched FP6601Q. In addition to supporting BC1.2 Apple all-eating, Qualcomm’s fast charging protocol also supports QC3.0 and passed Qualcomm QC3.0 certification. There is also a leading industry support for Huawei FCP handshake protocol support, which is more versatile and provides a foundation for brand merchants to develop better compatible fast charging products. In 2019, USD PD fast charge FP6606C/FP6606AC was widely adopted by customers, and it has been shining in recent years in the field of charging.
After the big-selling product FP6601Q of QC3.0, JD6632 was launched for Qualcomm QC3. The latest product that supports Qualcomm® Quick ChargeTM 3 technology fast charge control chip. JD6632 is fully compatible with FP6601Q, allowing customers to upgrade their products to QC3 without changing their design. UL QC3 certificate number: 4789427183-2
QC3 can charge the battery from 0% to 50% within 15 minutes, which is 35% faster than previous generations of products but reduces the temperature during charging by 9 degrees so that chargers and batteries can be charged at the best conversion efficiency.
QC3 can be regarded as an enhanced version of integrating QC3.0 specifications into QC4’s 20mV unit voltage micro-control. It can perform voltage fine-tuning in units of 20mV and can be downward compatible with existing QC versions.
Provided for those who still choose USB Type-A as the charger connection interface due to cost considerations.
